Building Community Building Hope

When the Federal Children’s Bureau Office on Child Abuse and Neglect recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of the landmark legislation that established the field of child maltreatment, they were struck by how much had changed on the knowledge side of the field, and how little was changing on the practice side across the country. When they approached us they told us, “we feel like we’ve been saying the house is on fire for 40 years, and nothing has changed.” Through a robust film strategy research project we proposed the launch of the Building Community Building Hope series, a growing library of film tools to help model some of the most innovative new solutions in the field of child maltreatment with a hope to energize the national field around new ideas. This launch film sets the stage for the wider project to come. You can see the full portal at cantasd.org
